Bayshore Specialty Pharmacy & the Bayshore Foundation Support those living with Multiple Sclerosis

July 3, 2024
MS Society of Canada

Since 2019, Bayshore Specialty Pharmacy has been proud to support MS Canada through funds raised by our employees, clients, members of the community and matching funds from the Bayshore Foundation for Empowered Living.

With one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, there are over 90,000 Canadians living with the disease and approximately 12 people will be diagnosed every day. MS is a lifetime disease of the central nervous system that can affect vision, memory, balance and mobility.

Funds raised and donated by Bayshore ($24,000 in 2023 alone) have been used to provide information and resources to those living with MS, their families, friends and caregivers.  So far this year, more than $6,000 has been raised.

Currently, MS Canada is funding a portfolio of 101 research initiatives (a $35M investment), as well as advocating for MS patients by raising awareness of the disease and helping those living with MS to enjoy a better a quality of life.

The partnership between the Bayshore Foundation and MS Canada has allowed MS Canada to create programs and supports so those effected by MS can remain at home as long as possible with their families:

One recent grant recipient of the Quality-of-Life Equipment program asked MS Canada to share their message of gratitude to the Bayshore Foundation, whose donations helped fund that program: “We are so happy and appreciative to receive this funding from MS Canada. It has removed great stress from our lives.”

The Bayshore Foundation is proud to continue to support the MS Community in Canada.
